I can "Listen to the Music!"

Reviewed by Saintscruiser, 2009-11-21

Who doesn't like the Doobie Brothers! All of my favorites are on this double CD! 'Listen to the Music' is by far the best song to dance to, unless you have Michael Jackson's best songs, which will be my next purchase. As I said on another review, I love Amazon because I can listen to clips from the the CD's and can pick out the one that suits my ears. I love shopping on Amazon as they have always come through for me on more than music. I highly recommend Amazon to anyone who is interested in making a purchase of any kind. Thank you once again, Amazon!

Great Collection!

Great collection. My favorites are "Another Park, Another Sunday" and "Music is the Doctor." Bought this collection specifically for these two songs.

best of the best

I first had this collection when each song was new, I lost some to time, and obviously 8-tracks were gone a long time ago. I renewed my love for the music by getting them all again. This set is the GREATEST, and always will be.

One of the Greatest Greatest Hits

Reviewed by Toe Cutter, 2009-07-31

The Brothers Doob! One of the greatest rock bands from the psychedelic seventies. Perhaps second only to Grand Funk Railroad as far as great hit singles. I've admired their work ever since they made that wonderful appearance on "What's Happening?". During that cameo they played a raucous live version of "Takin' It To The Streets", and from that point on I was hooked. I have nearly everything they ever recorded(this review refers to the Doobie Brothers line-up prior to Michael McDonald joining the group. He was a terrible addition and I do not regard those subsequent albums as official Doobie Brothers releases.) But, this CD collects all those great hits in one package, rendering my vinyl collection worthless garbage. I enjoy putting my CD machine into "random mode" and letting those smoothed out, Doobie grooves wash over me like "Blackwater". What I've always loved about them is their relaxed attitude toward spelling, for instance check out the titles of these hit songs: "Long Train Runnin'","Takin' It to the Streets", "It Keeps You Runnin'", "Dependin' on You", "Wynken, Blynken & Nod", "Keep This Train A-Rollin'", "Rollin' On". I can't tell if it's on purpose or if they're simply illiterate, but it sure is fun!
Long live the (McDonald-less) Doobies!!
